Benvenuti to my musings of everything Italian, architectural and otherwise. Some launch a new vessel with a bottle of Champagne across the bow, but I’m going with Campari instead. This wonderful aperitivo is both tart and refreshing, complex but also so simple with a splash of Pellegrino to your liking. YES – it’s definitely an acquired taste but many of the best things in life require an adjustment in your perspective. This liqueur is made from an infusion of herbs and therefore often garnished with some botanical flourish. Mix yours to your liking, pink grapefruit juice works well but this is wonderful on ice with just soda or “Aqua Frizzante”.
